The Saint Walburga Church is the main church of Oudenaarde. It has a choir in Scheldt Gothic style - a remainder of the original church that was rebuilt in 1150 after a fire destroyed it in 1126).

The rest of the Walburga Church is built in Brabantine Gothic style. The Gothic tower was decorated with a Baroque upper part in 1620 by architect Simon de Pape.

For the older parts of the church the blue-grey Tournai limestone was used, whereas the more recent parts were constructed with Baleghem sandstone. Inside the church the same evolution in style can be spotted.

The contrast between the darker choir and the bright nave is remarkable. Inside the church are numerous Oudenaarde wall tapestries, as well as paintings and sculptures. The tower measures 90 m and can be seen from far away.
