The "Heart of West Flanders" is wrongly less known as a
touristic centre. Yet important remains of the past have been preserved; besides, the
active present gives a good example of a modern purchase town. After the fusion with
Beveren, Rumbeke and Oekene, Roeselare has daringly directed towards the future : in
economy and culture. The expanded traffic network makes it easy to reach this ancient town
on the Mandel for a visit.
