The visitors center gives information about the battle. An audiovisual spectacle with slides can be seen here. It indicates the strategic points of the battle and the movements of the different armies. Also, one can see here a movie about the battle. A 20 minute movie tells the story of present-day children who are playing at the battlefield and who suddenly find themselves in the middle of the battle.
To climb the lion hill (see picture on the lift) you can buy the entrance ticket at the visitor's center

Location: Route du lion 252-254, 1420 Braine-l'Alleud. Open: From April through September from 9.30 am till 18.30 pm, from October to March from 10.30 am till 17 pm Price: 4, 96€ (Euro), (several combination tickets can be bought for movie, lion hill and panorama)

THE PANORAMA OF THE BATTLE

Panorama of the battleThe panorama is a circular building where in 1912 a painting of the battle was housed. The painting, in circular form, is 110 meters long and 12 meters high. The visitor stands on a central platform and finds himself in the middle of the battle, surrounded by the infantry and cavalry of both armies. It was painted by Louis Dumoulin. In recent years audio elements where added to the panorama, so that this unique experience becomes very life-like. A must ! Tickets: at the Visitors Center, Price: 2,73 € (Euro) (or less when in combination with other monuments).
